Professional Services
The following are just a few of the programs Utah Valley Radiology Associates has developed. We are constantly searching for new programs to enhance the quality of service that we provide to our community. Our goal is to continuously increase the quality level of patient care.
Acute Stroke Therapy Program
Group physicians have instituted a best-practice certified stroke center using catheter-directed intra-arterial therapy for acute stroke using the latest thrombolytic agents and mechanical devices. This leading program also uses the latest advancements in imaging techniques to ensure rapid diagnosis of acute stroke as early as possible.
Advanced Breast Imaging
UVRA physicians are ahead in the area of best-practice breast imaging procedures and interpretations. Whether using mammography, ultrasound, MRI, or PET/CT, doctors practice evidence-based medicine to distinguish the patients' breast imaging needs. UVRA is proud to partner with Utah Valley Regional Medical Center's new digital mammography program providing current stereotactic biopsy techniques and digital mammography imaging procedures.
MRI, CT and PET
Drawing on considerable expertise and training, UVRA physicians have established optimized MRI imaging techniques for all areas of the body from head to toe. The most up-to-date and sophisticated methods are used to diagnose patient problems, while at the same time minimizing scan time for the greatest patient comfort. We are proud to offer professional services for the only PET/CT scanner in Utah Valley, an invaluable imaging modality for cancer patients including diagnosis, monitoring response to therapy, and surveillance for recurring disease. Utilizing the latest technology available (including 64-slice scanners), our diagnostic CT imaging protocols are tailored to minimize radiation exposure and risk of contrast reactions while providing the most diagnostic information possible. We perform state-of-the-art CT perfusion and angiography studies, including coronary CT angiography.
Pain Management Program
UVRA board-certified physicians use a multi-disciplinary approach to treat patients with complicated and chronic medical, surgical, and neurological pain problems. Utah Valley Pain Management, is pleased to act as a specialty consultant for the numerous different types of pain. These include, but are not limited to, various types of back pain, neuropathic (nerve) pain, cancer pain, musculoskeletal/rheumatologic pain, post-injury or surgical pain, and many others. A wide variety of treatment modalities are available, and each patient's case is personally reviewed by our multi-disciplinary staff in order that the best combination of therapies is offered to each person.
Pediatric Imaging
Dr. John Wendel, a fellowship-trained pediatric radiologist, works closely with pediatric physicians and specialists in our community to provide our children a high level of pediatric care, while seeking to limit the radiation dose to this particularly vulnerable patient population. He is skilled in ultrasonography, CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fluoroscopy, projection radiography, and other imaging tools.
Teleradiology Night and Weekend coverage
Physicians with Utah Valley Radiology Associates are committed to providing 24/7 radiology services to our local community and many areas of central and southern Utah. We feel strongly the commitment to provide personal service without relying on outsourcing for after-hours and week-end coverage. Regardless of the day or time, our patients and referring physicians can feel confident in the results provided to them from physicians they know and trust. We are proud to extend this high level of service to many smaller hospitals without full-time radiology coverage via a digital teleradiology PACS network, which allows image review anywhere a computer is connected.
Vascular and Interventional Care
The Interventional radiology and vascular services of Utah Valley Radiology Associates provides the highest standard in image-guided, minimally invasive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
